The Nigerian Dwarf Goat is a miniature dairy goat that originated from West Africa. This goat is highly adaptable to both hot and cold weather. Well known for it's high-butterfat milk content and small in size they make an excellent addition to homesteading farms. They can be very friendly and affectionate towards their owners which makes them an excellent pet.
Nigerian Dwarfs can breed year round, unlike most other goat breeds, and usually kid (give birth to) twins or triplets. The Nigerian Dwarf are very colorful with an array of patterns. Some can even have blue eyes. They usually weigh less than 75 pounds.
They are curious little animals and are very playful. These goats are very social creatures and need to have a buddy to live with.
Their daily diet is made up of hay, grain (in certain geographical areas), water and loose minerals. Their average life span is between 10 to 15 years depending on proper care.
